TURNING CONCEPTS INTO REALITY

After the creative process leaves us with a conceptual solution, its time to turn that concept into a working web site tailored to your needs. In order to do this we can turn to two CMS systems. Which one we use will depend on the requirements of the solution. Below is short description of both CMSs.

SYMPHONY CMS

  • Symphony lets you define the tools you need for the application. Its like a tool box, you take out what you need and leave the rest out of the way. This allows Symphony to be less cluttered and simpler to understand. Symphony in 3 words: Flexibility Simplicity, Speed. See below.

WORDPRESS CMS

  • Wordpress is a swiss army knife, lots of tools packaged together. However it doesn’t easily allow for flexibility in your data design as it is pre set up for pages and blog entries. WordPress definitely has its place and it is widely used for many blog type websites.

DEMO

Symphony CMS

“Symphony's features strike a perfect balance:
the power to do everything you need,
the intelligence to do only what you need.”

Flexibility
Symphony lets me develop complex data features very quickly, unlike most content management systems that have pre set data structures like pages or articles symphony lets you determine what data elements you need and where and how you would like to use them.

Simplicity
It then lets you the user, edit this data through a simple and elegant back end interface, or custom build front end form fields.

Speed
Because the back end is so simple and easy to use your website can be updated with tremendous speed and efficiency.

Every element in the back end can be defined for whatever makes sense for you.

Entry Page
Here you can see a typical symphony data entry page, customized for an example company's products. Keep in mind this is a simple example, file upload fields can be added as well as a text formatter for the desc field, and complex data relationships can be established.

Entry List
Here you can see a typical symphony entry list page, filled in with example products. The data shown on the list can be chosen to easily sort the data for your ease of use.

From here the data can be attached to and used on your website.
Back end --> XML --> XSLT --> HTML

You can let me worry about that part :)

Conclusion
I hope you see the benefits of using Symphony. Because of its flexible data features it allows me to offer a full featured, easy to use, professional website, faster and for less.
